Poem "The Sheep & the Goats"
@ 2005-07-26 – 12:11:09
SHEEP & GOATS
When speaking to His own disciples, Jesus relayed to them this story;
When He returns all angels with Him, sitting in His heavenly glory.
With the nations all before Him, from one another He will divide;
As He the Shepard separates sheep to His right, with goats on His left side.
Then to those placed on His right, the King will begin to say’
‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, Receive a thing splendid without delay.’
‘Come, take your inheritance, this kingdom made just for you;
prepared since the worlds creation’, these people just didn’t have a clue.
‘For when I was hungry & without, you gave Me something to eat;
& when I was thirsty, from you a drink, made my tongues refreshing complete.
You saw Me as a stranger & lonely, yet you still invited Me in;
I was cold & nearly naked, you clothed Me as if I were kin.
If I was sick, you cared for Me, by My bed you would watch & sit;
In prison you came to visit Me, your love just never would quit’.
‘Lord’, the righteous will answer,’ when did we see You in this way?
Hungry, thirsty, or a stranger, and invite You in to stay?
When did You need clothes my Lord ? We never recognized You at all.
Were You one of those precious poor? But Your face we’d surely recall.
When did we see You sick or in prison, & visit You in Your grief?
So many people, Oh my Lord! Did we really bring some relief?’
The King will say, ’The truth is, all you did for the least of these;
You did for Me, they are My brothers, you helped My suffering to ease’.
Then the King will turn to the goats, will say to those on His left;
‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, of My blessing you are bereft.
I’m sending you into eternal fire, for the devil & his angels was prepared;
For when I was hungry or merely thirsty, nothing with Me would you have shared.
I was a stranger, instead of welcome, all I received, your door in My face;
I was in need of clothing, but from you, I received not even a trace.
I was sick & in prison, you never came, I just wasn’t worth your attention’;
‘Lord, when? Had we known it was You, we’d have had no apprehension’.
‘I tell you the truth, how you failed these’, Jesus will go on to say;
‘Toward Me you acted exactly the same, doing nothing for Me each day’.
Then they’ll go on to their punishment, an eternity of suffering their claim;
But it was, their very own selfishness, that brought on their heads this shame.
But the righteous on to eternal life, so incredible, scarce to believe;
Beloved of Jesus, with their best in mind, so good they could never conceive.
So get up you potato, from the ease of your couch, but if you refused to be budged;
Remember a hot future awaits you for sure, by your own response you’re to be judged.
Don’t worry about your place in His body,(it’s huge), various places in which you can fit;
He accepts all who come, just do it right now, to the Head of all things you’ll be knit.
It’s easy to help, Jesus gives us the chance, all around us a world in need;
To give us the strength, with us He is, as we obey from our fears we are freed. -

GOOD NEWS POEM (Luke 13: 10-17)
Love is beautiful but it is also terrible; terrible in its determination to allow nothing blemished or unworthy to remain in the beloved. Hanna Hurnard- Hinds Feet in High PlacesInto the synagogue He entered, and so the people He taught;
A spirit had crippled a woman there, 18 years, no deliverance brought.
Unable to straighten at all, her body always was bent;
Jesus saw, and calling her forward, to heal her was His intent.
“Woman from your infirmity”, Jesus said, “you are set free”;
Placing hands upon her, she straightened up, immediately.
Christ died according to Scripture, for our sins, then buried in a cave;
On the 3rd day, according to Scripture, He raised to life, from the grave.
He then appeared to many, becoming witnesses to His glory;
Some recorded what they had seen, telling others the Gospel story.
The woman now so grateful, feeling his healing ways;
Showed to all she was thankful, now giving to God her praise.
Indignant at Jesus for healing, it being a Sabbath day;
The synagogue rulers’ wish, all healing to be delayed.
And so he told the people, “ There are six days for work.”;
“ Come be healed then, not the Sabbath”, Gods’ love he did shirk.
The Lord answered, “ You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you untie”;
“his ox or donkey on the Sabbath, leading to water so they don’t die?”
“ Then this woman, a daughter of Abraham, who Satan bound many a year”;
“should be freed on the Sabbath, from whatever has bound her here”.
His opponents all were humiliated, after Jesus had spoken;
But the people all were delighted, wonderful things Jesus had woken.
This same way Jesus cares for each of us, not wanting any to be bound,
By all the lies the world will offer, instead by Him to be crowned;
By His love, with His righteousness, He already paid for your sin;
Just give Him the life you already ruined, your situation turned into ‘win-win’.
You might think, ”My life’s pretty great, I don’t need Jesus right now”;
True, but ‘now’s not my main concern, for one day every knee will bow;
Also every tongue will confess, Jesus is Lord to the glory of God;
Humble yourself, the strongest thing you can do, the narrow path some have trod.
Jesus is King of kings, Lord of all, avoiding Him, the deadliest game;
In the end you won’t find Him at all weak or mild, yourself only to blame.
Gods’ offer, still open to any, will keep you from straits so dire;
Other options? Sorry just one, unimaginable suffering in eternal fire.
If you say it’s not fair, well who are you? Jesus created it all;
It’s His rules we need go by, on His name, humbly to call.
My purpose? To offend pride to death, also to divide you from strife;
The joy of every created thing, to fulfill Gods’ purpose for it’s life. -
Poem "Choices"

If I treat the rich better than the poor, evil thoughts dwell in my heart;
I’ve unjustly judged someone Jesus loves, discrimination I’m not to impart.
Doing to others as I’d like done unto me, to live life without a flaw;
Loving Jesus always with every part of me, in obedience to all God’s law.
So open your heart to that stranger, even if blind, crippled, or lame;
You may entertain an angel, not self-, but Jesus-centered our aim.
When angry with another don’t let it slide, resentment breeding, growing inside;
This affecting all my relationships, bitterness born, with nowhere to hide.
To choose to forgive, however I feel, is self control and Jesus’ way;
Don’t wait till you’ve punished them enough for your pain, just do it without delay.
Are hopes bound up in that person or clique? dissatisfied with all I see;
I must trust the Lord with all my heart, from my limited understanding set free.
Do I envy others for what they have? Is a jealous heart burning at my core?
If I do right will I not be accepted? Or is sin near, crouching at my door.
This sin it desires to have us, with Jesus’ help we’re able to master;
Without Him sin will entangle, will enslave us, leading to certain disaster.
God gave us His Word to live by, by His Son we can overcome;
Any evil that’s thrown against us, our enemy to be delivered from. -
Poem "Bible Truths"

Paul says in all things we are to rejoice,
without grumbling or questioning, it’s simply our choice.
Both God and a man, Jesus our example and brother,
in unity He shows us to look after each other.
To Jesus one day, will bow every knee,
He died for our sins, now salvation is free.
To Gods’ glory every tongue Jesus’ name must confess,
your own works are just dung, stop trying to impress.
Between yourself and others, consider others better,
look it up, it’s the truth, it’s all in Pauls’ letter.
Be anxious for nothing, instead of that pray,
with problems perplexing, He’ll show you the way.
To our own credit, giving is a fruit that increases,
give it a try, the storehouses of heaven it releases.
Humbly submit to Gods’ will, and you’ll certainly see,
suffering’s included,(sorry), but indeed you’ll be free.
Which life situations do we apply these truths to?;
All of ‘em man, cause Jesus really loves you!
